We don’t tell stories. We build strategic narrative assets.
In a fast, noisy business environment, your narrative isn’t decoration – it’s your engine. It’s what earns trust, creates stakeholder buy-in, aligns teams through change, sharpens your Go-to-Market, and makes complex value feel obvious.
At turba, we build your communication operating system – the messaging foundation that creates clarity, trust, and a real competitive edge. We equip leaders and teams with the skill no one teaches in school: turning business complexity into crisp, compelling language people understand, remember, and act on.
From the Newsroom to the Boardroom
I’m Ron Bar El (or Ron Barel, or Bar-El, depending on which corner of the internet you’re searching).
I founded turba around one simple belief: communication shapes outcomes – for organizations and for the people leading them.
And I didn’t learn storytelling in a classroom. I learned it under the crushing pressure of live television and daily news cycles.
My professional journey began as an Economic Editor and News Editor. In that world, you have seconds to capture an audience’s attention or lose them forever. I learned the art of turning the long, technical, and messy into something clean, sharp, and human.
I eventually traded the newsroom for global strategy and branding. As the CEO of BBDO Issue Management (part of the BBDO Group, one of the world’s largest advertising networks), I led strategic projects in Tel Aviv and Berlin. It was here I realized a fundamental truth: Winning companies & brands don’t win because they are “the best”. They win because they possess a distinctive narrative that people want to be a part of.
The next leap took me into global Big Tech at Outbrain. My mission: Shaping marketing strategies for the world’s premier media titans – including CNN, Sky News, Fox News, and Eurosport.
My work is grounded in a global perspective. I lived in Germany while completing my Executive Master’s degree at the Hertie School of Governance – Europe’s leading school for public policy. Today, I am proud to serve on the school’s Advisory Council.
When I’m not advising C-suite executives, I’m in the classroom, serving as a lecturer at Tel Aviv University (within the Lahav Executive Education program).

Clients We Love
They Say About Us
Ron has been working with HP Indigo for several years, with teams in Israel and around the world. Among other things, he has prepared our product and service leaders for drupa – essentially the Olympics of the printing industry.
He helps managers sharpen the value proposition, message, and story for different customer segments. What stands out is how quickly he understands our world, challenges participants, and gives them tools that significantly improve the way they communicate Indigo’s value.
Ron brings a powerful combination of strategic, marketing, and communication expertise. We’ve really enjoyed working with him.
We brought Ron in to help our sales leaders and sales engineers communicate highly complex information with greater clarity and impact.
Much of the work focused on adapting the message to the specific challenges and priorities of different audiences – from CEOs and C-level executives to a wide range of professional stakeholders.
Ron’s deep tech background means he quickly understands the context, speaks our language, and makes every workshop highly relevant and practical.
I’ve known Ron since my days at Cisco and recommend him wholeheartedly.
We worked with Ron as part of the rollout of Amdocs’ new EVP, through workshops for managers and internal communications teams in Israel and globally.
Ron helped us turn corporate values and abstract ideas into human, memorable stories people could genuinely connect with. He brings a rare mix of strategic thinking, deep marketing and tech experience, and real sensitivity to people.
And just as importantly – he’s great fun to work with.
When we planned a storytelling program for our employee ambassadors at Sapiens, we had a real challenge: a global group spread across continents, with all sessions taking place online. Ron turned that limitation into an advantage. The workshops were interactive, focused, and engaging – and they simply worked. The outcome exceeded our expectations. I recommend him wholeheartedly.
Ron led storytelling and content workshops for Sheba’s communications team, helping us turn information into stories – and complex, overloaded content into sharp, memorable messages.
What I loved most was that he didn’t let us off easily. He challenged our thinking, while giving us a practical methodology and creative tools we could immediately apply.
Ron brings exceptional knowledge, professionalism, and endless energy. Days later, people were still asking: “How would Ron present this?”
The bottom line is simple: we keep inviting Ron back to work with our partners at the law firm. He doesn’t teach communication as theory. He puts us straight into real situations: how to open a conversation with a prospective client without sounding salesy, how to introduce another service to an existing client, or how to present a complex issue in a partners’ meeting.
Our people are smart, sharp, and not easy to impress. Ron connects with them immediately, challenges them, makes them laugh, and gives them tools they can use the very next day.
Ron has been teaching in Lahav’s executive programs for several years, both as a regular lecturer and across additional executive forums. He consistently receives excellent feedback – no small achievement with experienced managers who are not easily impressed.
Ron has a real talent for turning complex ideas into clear, memorable learning experiences. He combines theory, rich professional experience, and the real challenges executives face, so participants leave not only inspired, but with tools they continue using long afterwards.
I worked closely with Ron on a new venture we built inside Harel, from shaping its identity and positioning to sharpening the value proposition and the way we presented it internally and externally.
Ron became a true thought partner. He asked the questions others might avoid, challenged our assumptions, and helped turn complex thinking into a clear and compelling story.
He brings the same qualities to his workshops: strategic thinking, curiosity, intellectual sharpness, and a lot of energy.
Ron has been working with us at EY for several years as part of as part of EY’s learning & development programs, with managers, young partners, leadership teams, and participants in our Super Talents programs.
In a firm built around data, numbers, research, and consulting expertise, the ability to turn professional knowledge into a clear message and real client value is critical. This is exactly where Ron excels.
He helps people identify what matters, frame it through a strong narrative, and communicate ideas with greater clarity, precision, and influence.
I’ve been working with Ron for several years – first at HP Indigo and now at NICE Actimize – both on employee development programs and in one-on-one work with managers.
He has led storytelling and effective communication workshops for our product managers in Israel and the US, helping them turn complex ideas and products into sharp, compelling narratives.
Whether it’s a workshop or preparing a manager for an important presentation, Ron quickly gets to the heart of the issue and tailors the work to the specific need. He’s an excellent thought partner — sharp, precise, and consistently valuable.
Ron’s Tech-Storytelling workshop genuinely changed my life. It sounds like a cliché, but it’s true.
Before the workshop, I had never really spoken in front of an audience. I certainly never imagined presenting a complete story – in English – to HP leadership.
Since then, I’ve taken several of Ron’s workshops and learned how to build a story, draw an audience in, and communicate ideas people actually remember. Today I’m regularly invited to speak in webinars – and I still often catch myself thinking: “How would Ron deliver this?”
Ron’s workshops are energetic, engaging, and highly practical. We’ve been working with him for the past two years, in both Israel and Poland, as part of our ongoing employer branding work with Playtika’s employee ambassadors.
He has a great ability to turn storytelling principles into tools people can actually use. The impact was immediate: our ambassadors gained confidence, found a stronger personal voice, and created content that felt more authentic and distinctive.
I highly recommend him.
Ron has been a regular lecturer in our programs for several years, particularly in marketing and employer branding.
He shows, in a very practical way, how a strong organizational narrative can drive business growth, differentiation, and employee alignment. He teaches participants how to sharpen a value proposition, adapt the story to the audience, and build messages that are both clear and memorable.
Ron combines professional depth, broad experience, and great energy.
The consistently excellent participant feedback speaks for itself.
Ron’s experience across journalism, advertising, marketing, and tech – combined with his ability to make ideas engaging, intelligent, and accessible – makes him one of Israel’s strongest voices in storytelling and narrative building.
And his workshops are truly hands-on. You leave knowing what to do differently the next morning.
Storytelling is an art, and Ron not only masters it – he knows how to teach it. In a workshop for a particularly eclectic group at AppsFlyer, he made storytelling accessible, relevant, and practical.
By the end, people didn’t just understand what storytelling was. They understood how to actually do it.
I was genuinely impressed by Ron’s ability to keep a group of highly technical people focused and engaged for an extended period — especially in a virtual setting.
The workshop was smart, energetic, practical, and participants were with him from the first minute to the last.
The feedback was excellent, and I personally came away with new insights and tools as well. Ron doesn’t just teach storytelling — he demonstrates its power throughout the session.
I’ve been working with Ron for years, and in every new role I somehow find a way to bring him with me.
He has been a trusted thought partner for important presentations, organizational initiatives, and moments when narrative framing and communication clarity really matter.
Ron gets into a new professional world remarkably quickly. He challenges people, sharpens their thinking, and gives them tools they can use immediately. He is someone I trust deeply – sharp, precise, and always committed to the outcome.
